defeated Romancing SaGa 3 final boss!! soooo emotional! here's how to defeat final boss! key secret strategies!

in tears, what a jaw dropping and super EMOTIONAL result!!!!

ok ok so basically make sure you have high stats (800-900 HP if you wanna be safe), the best weapons for your skill, the highest techs you can learn if you can. now I improvized and STILL won, so goes to show that even someone with a party of 3 axe users can still win. now gear should be self explanatory, whatever raises your magic defense as high as it can. now I made the mistake of giving them shields (most final boss attacks can't be shielded against, plus shields wasnt the deciding factor to winning, better to use that slot ofr a quality balm or better). wards include hypnosis, gaze, net, shivers, whatever I can equip, but leave room 1 slot in case a glimmer happens during final boss. I think you need 1 slot open for a glimmer bulb to happen (in one attempt, Nora did a NEW axe tech that was so epic! she sparked tech during the final battle!)

so as Ellen, I got the archfiend axe, axe level 40, shadow servant (lunar), fire magic (but didnt use it), supreme balm. has accessory that halves TP cost. Deadly spin tech.

Muse has water and lunar. lunar light/heal, shadow servant, the gekkibijin sword (dropped from Evoker group in Phantom Maze). Bullrush greatsword tech. HASTEN TIME. supreme balm. basically the most beautiful goodass lol.

Undine has fire and lunar. autoRevive buff, lunar light/heal. staff of vivacity/power heal. lunar is better than solar, I heard solar healing removes shadow servant. stacked with balms. has the mage accessory that halfs MP cost.

Nora. gothic axe (didnt feel like looking up how to learn steal to get the 2nd best axe in the game from minotaur). balm, Shadow servant. Deadly Spin tech. lunar light/heal

Candy/Tatyana. wind axe (hawkwind or something. I dont tend to memorize small details but its something wind) quality balm (like I said, should of had an extra balm instead of shield.) Shadow servant. Deadly Spin tech. lunar light/heal.

RISING PHOENIX formation. (got it from recruiting Tiberius. yea its a hassle going up and town the archfiend tower, but its worth it. didnt have the means to wake up the elephant at that point).

I also learned genbu formation recruiting Yang (woulda brought Zhi Ling along, but wanted to test that genbu formation, but despite its party regen, it seems inferior to rising phoenix, however, I think my 2nd phase strategy is usable for different formations perhaps).

ok so what is crucial are these things. 1. the attackers/damage healers should not use MP at all if it can be avoided. save the MP for shadow servant during the 2nd/final Eclipse phase. Do not gas out of MP using shadow servant before that, cause I learned especially if you have low MP like my attackers do (40 MP or less) , that better to save shadow servant for last phase. plus I mightbe crazy, but it seems the final boss snatches MP away from party members, not sure if eclipse causes that. so you could wind up having less MP than planned later in the fight. so dont spend ANY of the mp if you can.

  1. I position Undine top left. myself/Ellen top right. Nora in center/decoy, Candy bottom left, Muse bottom right.
  2. Undine uses lunar light to keep people healed. maybe using revives early is ok, but overall, save MP in case of emergencies, use power heal if damage is minor. lunar light if damage is 200+.

  3. Muse if have 40+ MP, can use shadow servant early. Undine is the 'healer' of party. Muse is 'support' and damage dealer backup. Make sure to not go below 20 or 16 mp. need enough Mp to use hasten time for the final phase. bullrush if no one needs serious healing, power heal (staff) if someone needs healing, lunar light if more healing is required. otherwise, bullrush.

  4. during 1st Eclipse. having everyone use lunar light on someone, by then people may be kinda beat up, so lunar magic could trigger Light Wing to occur, which heals everyone and removes eclipse.

  5. inbetween 1st and 2nd eclipse. have to make sure everyone is in good condition, damage the boss. make sure people are in good condition before 2nd eclipse starts.

  6. 2nd eclipse. Undine should start casting revives on the 3 damage dealers (axe users) first one by one, if damage is so spread out that multiple are at 50%, have each use a balm to heal themselves. Muse should use HASTEN TIME as her first action during 2nd eclipse.

  7. the first action for all axe/damage dealers in 2nd eclipse is Shadow Servant buff! now is the time to do as much damage as possible!

so depending on things, victory could be surprising faster than expected. characters damage output is crucial and final boss seems to take more damage during eclipse phase, but its important to finish the 1st eclipse phase soon, then save the true damage output for 2nd eclipse phase!
