The Olde Grist Mill (Seekonk)- what happened?

The food is abysmal now, like, lower than Gregg’s tier (referring to Gregg’s food, Gregg’s desserts are still S tier). I’ve been to the GM a few times this year and it’s shocking how only over the course of about 6 months how truly awful the food has become. A lot of my friends and family who have went report the same thing, so I’m honestly shocked so how it still gets reviewed favorably and recommended.

I’m not gonna try to act like the Grist Mill was ever the peak of Greater Providence dining- it wasn’t, but it always had pretty good ambiance. When Canned Heat bought the GM a year and half ago, they made some nice updates to the interior and dare I say the food was actually pretty good. This wouldn’t last, and fast forward to now and I’ve sworn off returning due to how bland and cold my meal was. Also it’s extremely overpriced for what you get- $18 to have the salad bar as an entree (without a protein) is atrocious.

What happened? Did Canned Heat get greedy? Are they prioritizing their other restaurants on their restaurant firm?
