Looking for a childhood RTS

Hi guys, Im not a regular reddit user, but for like the past 6 months I have been searching for a RTS game I used to play as a kid when I was like 5/6, this was back in 2004/2005 I think. A few details about the game: It had robotic type spiders that shoot lasers. It had a futuristic touch to the game, meaning it had robots, tanks its kinda like starcraft but it isnt. It had maps that were like open, some were deserted islands etc. This is the best I can remember. Please guys help me out with any games that fit those attributes. Thank you guys!
