The day I've dreaded has finally come
This is more of a rant for people who I know will at least understand me. My heart rat Cheez-it just got scheduled for euthanasia tomorrow. Shes barely moved in the last 2 days, will barely eat or drink. You've been battling cancer for 6 months and I can tell you're ready. But dad sure isn't. You're my first baby of my pair of 2 that we rescued as feeders. We lost your sister only a few months after you came into our care. I wasn't sure at first, but after we lost Biscuit you clung onto me and would only be your normal happy self if I was around. From there we got Gin and Whisky, who bonded so close so quickly with you. We lost Gin due to respiratory disease, and your cancer first became apparent not long after.
We then got Perdita and Biscotti expecting we only had a month or so until we lost you and so Whisky wouldn't be alone, but here you are 5 months later. The babies adore you, all three of your cagemates have been so close to you keeping you clean and warm because they know you don't have much time. You've started this life of making sure future little ones will come into a loving home, which so many of these misunderstood creatures never get the chance to have and I can't thank you enough for what you've done.
We're having lobstertail pasta tonight which you'll hopefully be enticed enough to take a bite of seafood has always been you're favorite. I just can't believe you're last night on this Earth is here, but dad promises it will be full of love and warmth. Thank you for all that took the time to read, I will make sure to lay the rat tax. I love you Cheezy, there will always be a little part of my heart missing from tomorrow on, but you deserve your rest
