Kid friendly apartments

Single Mom considering living in an apartment temporarily. My budget is $1,300-$1,500. If you live in any apartments in this range in the QC, do you feel like they are kid friendly? Biggest thing I want is safety in the location. I will take literally any feedback/advice.
