A little theory on the potential main trio
As a Kai and Diana stan, of course I'd want them to be foils to Damon! (AND HOPEFULLY MAKE IT TO CHAPTER 5)
Not only because they're my personal favs so far and they have the most interesting dynamic with Damon, but also..
- Kai and Diana serve as the main antithesis to Damon's underlying theme of underestimating talents and considering them as "useless" What better way to challenge his perspective by having him be contrasted with the Ultimate Influencer and the Ultimate Makeup artist.
(Side note but also completely unrelated, I seriously have this gut feeling that Kai's Ultimate Influencer title is gonna play a more significant role in later chapters.
"Influencer" means somebody that has the power to make others follow. I think this ties in nicely with how Damon's title as Ultimate debater relies on him having "Influence" or the ability to persuade others into his pov. hmm)
- Damon, the snake, Diana, the chameleon, and Kai as the butterfly - all three of these animal motifs have something in common. Theyre associated with Change, transformation.
Like how a snake sheds its skin, how a chameleon adapts to their environment, and how a butterfly undergoes a transformation from a caterpillar to gaining their wings.
I may be reading too much into things, but these are just food for thought!
