Working with a newborn

I am 21 weeks and I work as a self employed online tutor. The baby is due just after exams, so my work load goes down a lot a few weeks before due date, which works out well for rest. I also work evenings and Sundays, and my partner works 10-6 on weekdays, so he can have the baby while I am working.

Because I am self employed, my maternity pay isn't a lot, so I will have to keep working as soon as I possibly can. I am hoping for only about 2 weeks off. Is this reasonable or will I need longer? (I work from a desk at home and will only be working about 2 or 3 hours in the evenings and on a Sunday morning.)

Also, I am a bit worried about money. My partner will cover a higher portion of the household stuff (we always work it out according to how much we are earning), but I really value my financial independence, so don't want to struggle too much. (He will support me however I need, this is purely a me being stubborn thing!) I'm considering looking for a part time job that I can do through the day that doesn't involve face to face interaction so I can work around the baby. Is that way too ambitious and possibly too hard to find?

It's our first kid and I don't really know what to expect.

I hope to breastfeed, but the baby will have to have the bottle too so my partner can feed him while I am working. Is this doable, or is there a chance that he will only settle on the breast? That really worries me. If so, would we need to just solely bottle feed?

Has anybody else got a similar routine, and will it actually work or am I overlooking anything?

Just looking for general advice and reassurance, as I am starting to really worry!
