We know Luffy's real dream was thought up when he was a child.

Today, as I put my kid to bed, I think I've stumbled upon Luffy's secret dream.

What do children hate the most? Anyone who has a toddler knows they hate going to bed at night. As a dad, I tell my daughter that the sun has gone to bed and so she needs to as well.

Based on the lore dump in chapter 1138, and enel's cover stories, we know there is a lot of reference to the sun and the moon.

I believe Luffy's dream is to set the moon on fire, akin to the sun; so that there is no night time anymore.

Or, less likely, to split the sun in two, and place them such that there is no night anymore.

Review the crew's reactions, and then saying it's an impossible dream in chapter 1060. I feel it fits in perfectly.
