2024 Omega Speedy Sapphire - Reserve

Curious if anyone else has experienced surprisingly impressive power reserve with their Omega?

I’ve seen plenty of posts from people saying they’re not getting great reserve, and at first, I thought I was in the same boat. I’m a first-time Speedy owner, and when I initially wound the watch, I stopped after about 30 turns. I felt some tension and assumed I had hit the limit—I didn’t want to force it. At that point, I was only getting around 30 hours of reserve.

But after doing some more reading, I realized it’s normal to feel increasing tension as you wind, and you’re supposed to keep going until you really can’t wind any further, even with a bit of resistance (I’ll admit, that was nerve-wracking the first time).

Once I got over that hesitation, I gave it another shot, carefully pushing past the resistance. I was surprised to find the watch kept winding. I didn’t count exactly how many turns I did, but after a full wind, I set a timer next to it to see how long it would last—and the results were impressive.

The watch is still ticking at this point, but wanted to check in with others. So far I’ve got 63 hours on the reserve and it’s still going, although I doubt for much longer.
