NSW New Grad pay for first year RN

Hi everyone,

I was hoping to hear how everyone found the pay for their first year on gradstart. Salary is 70k and was hoping to hear everyone’s experience living on that right now in and around Sydney. So a few questions:

Did you earn more than you expected because of overtime, extra shifts, night shift etc.?

How has it been living and working in Sydney on that amount?

Have the hours/job been alright living with flatmates e.g. odd hours, not getting sick/them sick?

Any advice to make first year RN financially viable?

Currently living with family on the cheap but unable to as of about December this year so just trying to figure out how it’s working for new grad RN’s. Thanks for any information
