Reassessment time: should I change my focus or keep pushing with my current content?

Hey everyone, I’ve been grinding away at YouTube for a year or so now, and I’m hitting a wall. I need an outside perspective—should I double down on my current approach or shift gears?

I run two channels that are all about excess, transformation, and over-the-top media.

Channel 1: Hazamelis Soup Rock Shop

I call myself a magtitudinist and disciple of excess. I review progressive, symphonic, avant-garde, and wildly excessive rock albums. If it’s overblown, pretentious, and mind-melting, I talk about it. Think prog rock epics, sci-fi disco operas, Latin City Sassphonics Revival—the more over-the-top, the better. I also like to keep the videos short to no more than 2 minutes/1 minute.

Channel 2: Hazamelis Shock Pop Shop

Here I present myself as a partisan of metamorphosis. I focus on Gender Bender stories, Transformation Fiction, and media that plays with identity and reality. I review movies, anime, and games that tackle these themes—like Heavenly Delusion, La Piel Que Habito, everything that is about identity deconstruction, I want to talk about. I also like to talk about straight up wacky stuff like 100 Girlfriends.

🖤 My style? I wear a striped shirt, black bow tie, dramatic eyeliner, and black lipstick extended at the corners. I present female but have a deep male voice. I like to be high energy and I love being myself on my videos.

The struggle?

  • I’ve been posting daily on my music channel for 3 months, but views are low (~20 per video).
  • My second channel has more audience potential (I could review more anime in general, which I also enjoy, not just GB, TF or stuff like that), but I don’t know if it’s worth shifting focus.
  • I don’t have fancy animations or crazy edits like bigger YouTubers, and that feels like a major obstacle for retention.
  • Burnout is creeping in, and I’m wondering if I should adjust my approach or just keep grinding.

🔥 So I’m asking: Should I change my focus, tweak my content, or keep pushing forward as is? Thank you for the answers!
