Please help: newborn sweat vs pee??

Our son is 8 days old today. For the last 3 nights, when we get him up from his bassinet to feed him, intermittently, he will have a puddle of wetness under him. Is this sweat?? (The internet says newborns do sweat but we’ve been following the guidance of dressing him in one extra layer than us) or pee?? (His diaper is dry….. doesn’t seem likely that the pee somehow shoots up a closed diaper when we point his penis down during changes and fluff up the sides). The wetness does not smell like ammonia. It drenched through his clothing layers and onto the bassinet mattress cover. Anyone else have this issue?? Thank you in advance for any wisdom for these new first time parents!
