U.S. President Donald Trump recently stated that Canada could potentially become a state of the United States.

“We have a significant trade deficit with Canada, and we can no longer sustain this,” Trump said. “You know, I’ve always said you could become a state. If you became a state, there wouldn’t be a trade deficit, and we wouldn’t impose tariffs on you.”
