Changing player position wipes abilities and makes point upgrade screen go away in CFB 25?

I'm so confused about this happening in Dynasty mode, and I tried to read as much as possible that EA put out regarding Dynasty mode details and instructions as well as Googling but I can't find an answer.

I am finishing my third offline season as the HC for JMU and for the first time, I am exploring position changes. I saw some players who, when I selected their name, showed that they would have a much higher OVR in a different position, so I changed a few. The OVR did go up, but I noticed that Abilities either appeared or disappeared for both mental and physical (it was much more likely for them to disappear).

Also, I changed one player and they immediately gained a platinum speed rusher ability. I noticed they would be higher OVR at a different position, so I switched them. Immediately, their abilities blanked out. When I open the player card (even after reloading), I cannot see the screen where it shows their stats that can be upgraded with the points they gain through games, it just looks blank. I tried to change them back to their original position, but the abilities remained blank and they were lower OVR. The more I change this player's position, the lower the OVR goes. This is all while remaining on the same screen. It's as if your recruiting outreach hour decisions would somehow start sapping the hours used away while you are figuring out what to do.

Am I missing something here? Why is this happening?

I also saw some talk of an ATH position bug and a bug with the catchall FCS teams that show up being OP that happened early on, and I saw a note shortly after that EA had patched something that required you to start a new dynasty for it to come into effect, but I was not willing to do that at that point for whatever fix they explained. I forgot the fix so clearly it wasn't relevant at that stage, but I'm mentioning this in case the patch had any impact on this.

Any idea what the hell is going on?
