Zombie movies that are actual horror

I've been watching a few zombie movies lately and something I realized is that very few of them seem to hit upon the fact that the corpse of a recently alive human alone is actually horrifying, but that said corpse comes back to life without any of its former humanity, wants to kill you, and is nigh unstoppable should be a pants-shitting level event.

Instead, zombies are made to feel individually insignificant by only posing a threat in large groups and often being killed en-masse or in comedic ways which usually, to me, rapidly leads to desensitization.

I like anything between 80s and now. I've seen tons of zombie movies but I can't remember most of them so anything popular or super niche works.
