If many of my villagers have a problem with cousin Marius are they all related?

It occurred to me when I housed 2 villagers together that made the same comment about Matius, and then realized a huge number of the other villagers do too (around 20% of mine) walking around stating they should invite their family to move into the village except cousin Matius that if they all have the same person as a cousin, with the same bad reputation that they don’t want to invite him, is it just me or does this imply they are all related? Ew. lol. 😂. I guess that can happen in medieval time when there are only 4 villages but ew.
And what exactly did Matius do that no one wants him? It has me curious. 👀. He seems as liked as the king they want to overthrow. Has this thought crossed anyone else’s mind?
