Crossbody for camera and water bottle

I'm wanting a day bag for traveling that can carry a Canon SX70, wallet, phone, a few personal items, and a water bottle. Other requirement is a removable strap so I can strap my bag down to a chair when I'm at a restaurant. Ideally it should fit a Daymaker Passport sling https://daymakers.com/87133-75x45x125-4th-Generation-Passport-Phone-Sling-Anti-Theft-Wallet-RFID_p_3086.html (which I will use as a wallet in the larger bag, or as a standalone crossbody when I just need my wallet and phone.) I like crossbody bags, but haven't embraced slings because they usually ride so high, and that just looks awkward to me. However I'm coming around to the idea because it seems like crossbody bags with water bottle pockets are often huge, and I don't want to rock a gigantic bag. I'm planning on some hiking, so a sling might be the way to go. Reading through other threads got me looking at the Toshi Sling 5L. I think my camera would fit in the bag if I could use the cargo straps at the bottle for a water bottle. But is a bottle too smooth/slippery to stay secure? And is the strap long enough to wear more like a crossbody purse than a sling? I'm only about 5' 1".
