JP Career change

I'm only 28, but a recent back injury has unfortunately derailed my career as a journeyman plumber. After six years in the field, I'm considering a career change to plumbing design. I'm thinking about getting a drafting certificate from my local community college. With limited drafting experience, I'm wondering if my plumbing background brings any value to the table as a potential plumbing designer. Additionally, I'm curious about the best approach to breaking into this field. Are there any specific certifications or additional training you would recommend? Any advice is much appreciated.
