LI has had virtually no physical fights and almost no threats in the more recent seasons, for obvious reasons. How are other dating shows able to have these things?
In roughly the last ~6 seasons in LI, there has been literally no physical fights and almost no threats between islanders, likely because they know exactly what will happen to them if they go down that route. This makes perfect sense, as any fights/threats will likely give the show bad rep and potentially the producers might even get into trouble if someone gets seriously hurt.
So then, I was watching this other dating show called "Are you the one?", which has roughly the same initial premise as LI with the twist that the matches are pre selected and the people just need to find them. But what stood out to me was that the producers seemed to be a lot more hands off with the cast. There were frequent threats, people smashing glass, punching out windows and even a full on brawl between multiple cast members.
So this got my thinking, how does that work and why does this difference exist? Do the 2 shows maybe cater to different audiences who want different things? Do they make all the cast sign disclaimers to avoid responsibility or something? Also, if you know of any other dating shows that have a more hands off approach to fights/threats, do share and let us know how those work as well.
