Timely diagnosis/treatment for possible bladder cancer
Hello, Ever since my father has had gross hematuria, it has been a very slow, grinding process to get proper follow up. It took two weeks just to get a CT which showed a potentially concerning mass. I am a resident physician in different specialty and pushed for an earliest cystoscope. But they wanted to get CT first before anything. And now, they are dragging their feet to schedule an appointment with an urologist.
Obviously, if it is bladder cancer, he would need earliest treatment and diagnosis.
He has been mainly communicating with his PCP via chat to progress things. What are some ways that he can advocate for himself to expedite the process? Should he call the urology dept directly?
Thank you for your help
