Advice: Should I become a Doctor?

Hi everyone!

Hope this ok to post here. I am looking for some honest and sincere advice.
To cut a long story short I am originally from Ireland, but have graduated in the UK with a MSc in a healthcare role that has attracted a lot of controversy (please no speculation on this). There are currently very few job opportunities in this role at this time.

I have always thought about becoming a doctor but have always doubted my own capabilities. However, after spending time in hospitals on different rotations (both medical and surgical), I now see that pursuing a career as a doctor is something I am very interested in. Even if I had a job in the role referred to above, I had planned to see how I felt in the role before fully making up my mind on medicine.

So now I feel I am at a crossroads - being with doctors on rotations I understand that medicine does not end at undergrad but is a lifelong commitment to learning and providing care.

In light of this I feel I am too old (27) and currently too broke to follow this dream. Also with the controversy around the MSc I qualified in, I am asking myself am I panicking and if this is really the right decision for me in the long term?
