cut IITians some slack.

I've been seeing alot of 16 year olds or maybe older people absolutely trash IITians these days. From blaming IITians for not progressing the country by not joining ISRO, government agencies to not promoting towards the country's development by not contributing towards research at all. And being called as a "IT slave for tech corporations"

Let me tell you something, no matter how smart you might be, unless you have the incentive to do something you will never do it. That's the same with IITians. These people crack JEE which is a mentally unbearable exam at the age of 18. They're exhausted, and they don't want to do anything other than play games or chill. However society has expectations for them and they can't just chill so they go to college and they go to classes and try to study so they can get a good job. These guys are so burnt out that they don't even study most of their days in IIT. The smart ones who studied alot in their JEE phase and college phase are even more burnt out. So all they want at the end of the day is to meet with their wives and kids and relax and not to be someone who actually develops this country.
