You will be fine.

I had a panic attack last night about JEE and I realised that I never want anyone to feel the way I did, so let me talk to you for two minutes to calm your nerve down if you're anxious about the upcoming exams. Take advice from me either as an older sister, younger sister, or if we're the same age, a twin sister, and allow me to say the words that I wish someone said to me.

'Jo Hoga Woh Hoga' Ah, the infamous phrase. It feels like a taunt, no? Like it's flushing down all our years of hard work, well let me tell you, it's true. What will happen, will happen, you cannot change it. So please take a deep breath and quit worrying about the exam, instead, worry about your current prep because your current prep is what will change the exam, not you. If you have studied well, it will reflect on the paper, if not, that's also okay, there is always a second option.

There's always a second option. I know I know, a random stranger saying this on the internet has little to no impact as I don't know your family situation, your relationship with your parents, your financial situation, etc. But whether you admit it to not, there will ALWAYS be a second option. You can always take a gap year, write private engineering entrance exams, because IIT is not the end, it merely helps you get a earlier start than most.

Your life matters more than an exam.

Let me ask you something, why is IIT so prestigious? It's known that there are other colleges, both abroad and in India that have better facilities and curriculum, so why?

It's because of the packages. The packages are good, that's all. It's a name tag. It's a sense of pride, If you will, and a right one at that. But there are so many other colleges that offer the same, if not more packages while being private or Tier 2 (Ashoka, Flame, NIT, SRM, VIT, etc.).

The most brilliant people I know haven't even reached IIT level, never even dreamed of it, but they are doing better than a few IITIANS I know. But don't think IITIANS don't do well, they do, that's why everyone is running after this.

What I'm trying to say is, IIT is not the only option, there are multiple options. You always have a choice, you have the time and the resources, I know people who started freshmen year at IIT at 20-21, and that's okay. You have an ample of time, there is no need to rush. If you're feeling embarrassed about taking a gap year, don't. Because no one other than you gives a fuck, everyone is so wrapped up with themselves and their own issues that they really don't care about others.

Success does not have a straight path. IIT does not guarantee success, just read the report about the amount of unemployed people just from the last graduated batch, you'll realise that getting into IIT isn't all rainbows and charms. Take Narayana Murthy, from NIT, owner and CEO of Infosys. Satya Nadella, MIT (Manipal), CEO at Microsoft. Kalpana Chawla, Punjab Engineering College, now a world renowned astronaut and so!!! many!!! more!!!

Toh kya hua IIT nahi hua? Ek exam crack nahi ho paya? Kuch nahi hoga, you will be fine. Everyone always ends up where they are meant to be, and so will you.

I will say this again; Your life matters way more than an exam, a college, and a degree.

If you have prepared well for JEE, don't stress because the stress will mess up your exam. You'll forget formula's and concept at the end moment, your brain will jumble it up so do yourself a favour and stop stressing and just let it go just as it is. It's just a date, just an exam, it cannot determine your whole life.

If you haven't studied for JEE yet, not even touched anything then that's okay too! there's always April, gap year, you have so many chances and options. Right now, focus on your boards.

I know how hard you worked for this, you sacrificed two years of the most precious moments for school for your future, that is the most selfless decision and I am proud of you. I know you aren't sleeping well or eating well, but please take care of yourself. Exams are nearing and you can't afford to get sick.

Please be gentle and kind to yourself, especially during this period. It's the time when you need yourself the most.

You can do this, I'm so so so proud of you. Please go out for a walk, watch a movie, read a book, eat a plate of paani puri, hug your parents, pet a dog, just be a kid for a moment before everything, you won't get this moment back so please relax for a moment and take care of yourself.

You got this, IIT is not the main goal, You are.

I am proud of you.
