Am i stunting my progress by mostly practicing improvisation

I play almost every night and have for six months, for a while now i have avoided learning any songs and just focus on theory, and tbh a LOT of improvising solos. I sometimes will go learn a small part of a solo I like and after a few days just eventually stop playing it and go back to improvising or learning something else.

I practice learning a few chords over time, some scales and just fretboard geography. Though when i improvise I only partially apply my knowledge because if I focus too much on staying within scales I just can’t get creative, I do a lot of just fucking around basically.

I have a lot of fun fucking around but I also would like to get really good, ik i shouldn’t focus on progress so much but it’s important to me. Am I stunting my growth by not learning new things from playing other peoples songs?
