Default calling

Hello Pixel users, I've had my Pixel for over two months now and I don't understand why I can't take a photo over the entire screen during a call? The phone has such a beautiful display and such a mini photo when calling. Does it bother anyone too? Or are you dealing with an external application? (I had before iPhone)
