The Great Clutch Debate

75k, 2017 6MT. Stock right now, the clutch is starting to slip occasionally, the writing is on the wall (and smells like clutch).

I've gotten multiple quotes for labor in the Twin Cities. Best I've found (that I would trust to do a good job) was an Indy shop at $1178 in labor. Plan to do it later this winter or early spring, depending on how long the stock clutch wants to hang on.

Now the question that I can't get past is do I go for the Southbend Stage 2 daily with the SMF, or the upgraded Sachs clutch + a new DMF?

The plan is to take it APR Stage 1, high torque on 91 octane.

Either clutch should hold that, both are rated at 400 ft. Lbs.

I've heard good things about the Southbend, but I also live in a city and primarily city drive, plenty of stop and go in regular usage.

I've heard the Southbend SMF is not so fun for city driving, plus the chatter.

The Sachs upgrade + new DMF is supposed to be pretty similar to stock, no chatter, and will save me a few hundred bucks ($12-1300) including a new DMF vs the SB ($1600).

That said, the SMF is supposed to make the car accelerate more quickly and just is more fun I've heard?

Share your experiences with my situation in mind and help me make a choice between the two. Thanks!
