PSA - Litter / advertising - Don't get scammed by travelling con men
I noticed early this morning a lot of "House Roof Painting" signs attached to street signs / give way signs etc around Waurn Ponds and Grovedale. They are corflute pieces 60 x 40cm attached to the signs with heavy duty cable ties.
They are most likely a mark of the old travelling con men / fake tradies / pikeys / Irish travellers / gypsies scam where lowlife filth con vulnerable people into spending extortionate amounts of money on shoddy trade work - roofing / driveway bitumen that sort of stuff.
No reputable business should or would behave like this, filling our public space with this crap but this mob had obviously done a hit job on this area very recently. Last night maybe?
Anyway, I had some time this morning and drove around and took down about 50 of them and tonight is bin night!
I saw some others earlier today while driving around that I didn't get to but see tonight that they are gone - so that's good.
If you see any, please cut them down, you'll save some poor old lady getting scammed. I have reported the signs to the council and will to the police tomorrow.
If you have any encounters with these scum, call the National Travelling Con Men Hotline (yes, that's a thing) on 1300 133 408.
