Missed the Point

I was watching a video of someone watching Godzilla Minus One for the first time & they were questioning the Big G's motivation even though it was shown in the film earlier. A similar occurrence happened where casual audiences don't seem to get that Monsterverse Godzilla doesn't protect humanity but the natural order. I'm not here to call a witch hunt or anything. But it did get me thinking if there were other instances like this where plot points or explanations go over their heads.
