Astari? I'm sorry

I accidentally genocided the entire astari village with just one tap of finger of God on the trees nearby. (it was also my very first time using finger of God.) I feel the world is empty now, and I know there must have been several game mechanics involving the astari people that I have completely missed out on. is there any way, besides restarting, The astari can come back into the picture? if not, can you guys at least tell me the cool things they do 😭
