GCSE Results Day Calendar: Day 9 of 14
5 days. That is just 120 hours. That is just 7,200 minutes. That is just 432,000 seconds.
Let me put that into perspective for you all...
Do you happen to remember school? Do you remember the weekdays? Monday through Friday, think about it like that. Our situation is as follows: Think of today, 17th August, as a Sunday night, and think of Results Day as a hypothetical Friday. Today is almost the start of the school week, and by the end of it you will have received your results. When you think about it like that, you realise just how little time we have left... Nerve-wracking, isn't it...?
Time is no longer in your favour. Ticking incessantly, the clock is your insurmountable enemy. In 5 days time you WILL have to open that crisp, brown envelope in front of expectant teachers and parents, you WILL have to face that sinking feeling in your stomach...perhaps you expected this, but as you stare at your results, only to have your stare returned by sub-par grades, perchance you will realise that this is your reality; you will realise that there will be no more pretending...your past actions will in fact have consequences. These results will pave the way for your future career, and there's nothing you can do to change that...what is done is done.
The GCSE path has closed behind you, leaving you alone, isolated in a forest teeming with opportunities...which path will you take...?
That will be all.
Sleep well.
