Successfully transitioning out of finance. Looking for advice.

Early 40s with 12 years of banking experience, no degree, looking for career change. Advice?

As the title states, I'm in my early 40s and have a previously successful career in business banking having worked my way up from a back office position to my recent 5 year stint as a relationship manager and credit analyst. For reasons I am now looking down the barrel of parting ways soon with my current employer.

I have some college with no degree in an unrelated field, but that's over 20 years ago now. I am unsatisfied with the sales aspect of my field and would like to transition away from front line work. Strengths are problem solving and financial analysis. Weakness is relationship management (funny, I know).

As the sole earner in my family I have to get this done in 3 months or less so going back to school is not an option.

Anyone successfully made a transition out? What did you do? How did you do it?
