CFA doesn't matter??

I completed my CFA Level 2 last November (results in January). I worked very hard as I was working, applying for MBA, and whatnot. I wanted to do Investment Banking or Investment Management post-MBA. I got in a T20 MBA program with great scholarship and was over the clouds. Now, as the recruiting heat has started, I am extremely sad when people say CFA doesn't matter in recruiting, especially for Investment Banking. Sadly, Investment Management firms don't sponsor so I can't recruit there. What do folks here think about the significance of CFA, particularly L2, for IB recruiting other than it makes easy for technicals? Are there any ways to leverage my CFA L2?
