Fedora for gaming / casual use.

Hello there folks!

This is my very first time with any Linux distro, so far I love Fedora!
Mainly I installed for my work laptop, I did some personalizing and now it is perfect for my every need.

I'm thinking about switching to Fedora on my PC too, but kinda afraid how the games will run, what kind of problems it can give me, etc. Mainly I would use Steam and Farming Simulator 25 from the developer website.

I would like to ask for some insight/help in every way possible.
This is my PC setup:

Mobo: ASUS B550-F Gaming Wifi
CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X
VGA: RX 6700 XT 12GB
RAM: 16GB
SSD: 1TB Kingston m.2
Cooler: NZXT Kraken X63 water cooling

Should I install Fedora to a portable drive and try it out, or just go for it on the main SSD to get a real picture about how things are.
Which Fedora should I install?
Do I have to install any other thing to run games?

Any help is appreciated, I'm very new to this, but willing to learn!

Have a nice day and thank you even for reading this!

Edit - Quick Update - 2025.01.29

So yesterday I managed to install Bazzite (around 8pm) for the first attempt to an external HDD. For a while it went well but then the system started to freeze up, I had to restart several times and I decided to call it a day. I'm 100% sure the cause of this is the HDD. I checked it before and it is in good condition, however it can't keep up with the system I guess trough usb connection.
Today I'm gonna try and install it on the main M.2 SSD that's in my rig, see how it goes.

Edit - Quick Update #2 - 2025.01.30

Yesterday I finally installed Bazzite KDE version to my SSD. First it gave me an USB device error on bootup, but then it proceeded to the install screen. I selected my SSD, clicked Install and got a "Device is active" message. There I decided to install it in dualboot instead, if anything happens I can still access Windows to solve stuff.

After bootup everything was smooth, Xbox Wireless Headset controller (XONE) is preinstalled, so I just had to connect it. I can manage all my RGB stuff too, I found a good Audio / EQ program called JamesDSP and it works flawlessly!

Wifi / bluetooth worked out of the box, internet speed was better than on Windows (idk how or what caused this honestly).

I changed some Steam settings so I can run the games, tested Doom Eternal, works pretty good, 1920x1080p, Ultra Nightmare - over 150fps.
