CloudSync doesn't automatically upload/download saves
Hi all! I'm running EmuDeck for Windows - on both my Lenovo Legion Go, as well as my desktop. I've been using the windows version since it was for Patreon members only - so for 3-4 months now?
I've been loving EmuDeck - 95% of the time I'm using it on my Legion Go. But since day 1 - I haven't been able to get CloudSync to actually function as advertised.
I have yet to observe CloudSync actually automatically upload, or download saves whenever I've closed or started an emulated game. I've been forced to go through the "Setup Cloud Sync" process every time until I reach the prompt that allows me to Download or Upload all of my saves if I want to sync across machines.
Troubleshooting details:
- I'm using Google Drive as my cloud provider (I have a 100 GB account I pay for)
- I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Cloud Sync multiple times on both devices
- I've tried uninstalling and re-installing EmuDeck and associated emulators (this was for troubleshooting an unrelated issue)
- When I run the "Test CloudSync Health" diagnostic - it all comes back green
I've even tried some stuff that seemed to be a stretch - I normally launch EmulationStation via Playnite, but I've tried launching directly through Steam to see if that will trigger CloudSync but nada.
Sadly googling doesn't turn up much as far as troubleshooting issues with CloudSync on the Windows version of EmuDeck - which I guess is to be expected as this only became public a couple of months ago - but it's still a bit frustrating. I've been meaning to use my desktop more as it's hooked up to my big screen - and having to essentially manually transfer all of my saves is a pain the butt. If I can't find a solution to get CloudSync working, I'm probably going to completely disable and try out Syncthing instead.
