Weight and times
I'm a junior in HS doing my first season of track. I built up easy milage over the summer and started running 25ish days per month plus cycling 2 months ago. I've been reslly training for 70ish days now. Im doing indoor track for the first time(first practice on Dec 3).
For a refernce I have ran 173 miles in the 28 days(43 miles per week). I haven't gotten hurt at all. Its been almost all 140-160 BPM runs plus 3 interval workouts and what I think is a tempo run. I ran a 5:28 1600M on Sept 17 and then a 5:09 1600M on Nov 6.
My wuestion is do i focus on trying to slightly reduce calories to lose weight. I have lost maybe 2/3(depending on when I weigh), but I am 6'2" 175 lbs. mind you hasnt been my gosl to lose weight. i used to lift for lacrosse so i am stringer in the weightroom than distance runners. Ive completely stopped upper body training. Do i try to lose weight. Ik the excess upper body mass will atriphy but as for fat on my body(for reference I have a 4pack flexing) to I try to lose or just let it happen as the months of trsining stack up?
