Not hearing anything about Tales Of The Shire, so close to its release, is a bit maddening!

When games are less than 1 year away from release, they've usually had a lot of public exposure. Multiple trailers, screenshots, pages and pages of written details about the game's features, gameplay demos, and maybe a beta test. All games need that publicity and hype to build up interest.

But beyond one teaser, Tales Of The Shire has shown us absolutely nothing. Nothing.

Their storefront has no details at all - https://store.privatedivision.com/game/tales-of-the-shire

Their Facebook, Twitter, and Tiktok pages all start and end on September 2023.

I keep asking myself, "What's with the cone of silence over this?"

Is it FTP / P2W and full of microtransactions, or is it pay-to-play? Is there crafting? Farming? Professions? Fishing? Trading? An auction house? DIY hobbit holes? Trimming the verge outside our hobbit holes? Can we invite RL friends and NPCs to dinner parties in those hobbit holes? Questing? Can players head over to Bree or Mithlond and do some questing or trading with the locals? Will there be expansions that gradually expand the playable world? Which age and year is the game set within? How many years before/after The Hobbit and LOTR?

Questions questions questions. No answers. And with a "Coming in 2024" release window.

I really, really hope they open up and start giving their potential fanbase something more to get excited about.
