AGI has arrived

Years ago, I used to be a researcher. Did my PhD on appied maths, effectively specialised AI. Trying to find its breaking points actually. At that time, I hated the phrase AI, as I viewed is as applied (advanced) statistics, very much depending on application.

I observe the developments of recent months from a distance, and I just cannot hide how amazed I am. It is not so much the maths behind it, but the way the comic's character escapes the frame, so to speak.

I've spent many years studying mathematical tools to quantify and define performance of AI in technical/phsysical systems, and from what I see right now, and I absolutely hate to admit it:

the General Artificial Intelligence (GAI) is here.

It is just up to historians to pick a date, sometime in 2nd half of 2024, when it has been attained.

Now, given the state of regulations and social preparedness to it..
