I will officially be a first-time cat dad this coming Monday!

I’m adopting a super chill and affectionate 9 year old void on monday and I’m super excited. She’s sadly declawed in the front which bums me out, but I suppose I won’t have to worry as much about torn up furniture 🤣. I have litterboxes, her special food, bowls, a cat tree, etc and have been following the advice of the shelter very strictly. I met her about a week ago at a cat cafe that has adoptable cats and I fell in love. I can’t really explain it, but we were sort of drawn to each other. I’m really excited (and I’m always happy to hear name suggestions 😁).

Is there anything perhaps more subtle or unspoken that I should be aware of when it comes to cat ownership? If it helps, I live by myself in a quiet part of town in a 1 bed/bath apartment. She’s already microchipped and updated on all vaccines. The adoption center has been relatively vague in terms of directions for new cat owners, and I’m sure they’d be willing to help out… I just don’t know the right questions to ask 😅.

Anyways, any general advice/words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. I will update with pics once I bring her home.
