Just had a wisdom tooth removed - has anyone else had theirs?

My dentist saw my X ray and said he's not seen anything like it in 3 decades lol. I have 4 wisdom teeth, 3 are completely submerged in my gums

The 4th one was halfway out and that's the one I got removed today as it had decay and was causing pain. The other 3 are really close to my nerve so I run the risk of permanent damage to sensation in my lips, face or chin - hence why I've left them alone for now.

Has anyone else had a wisdom tooth removal? What was your recovery like?

I feel a mild discomfort right now and have painkillers. But I've been told it's normal to be fine but it will hurt more in a day or two, does this ring true?
