Does this kill my car’s battery?
Recently added a dash cam to my new Slavia that takes current from the 12V port from the car and as you can see a socket/adapter has been given where I’ll have to reconnect and disconnect a USB wire every time I hop in and off the car (seems hectic isn’t it?).
The showroom guy claimed that it would only hurt the battery if the wire is connected to the adapter (when the ignition if off) which is connected to the port. Repeated removal of the adapter will cause loosening of the port.
The way it is the image above, just the adapter connected to the port doesn’t cause harm is what the showroom dude said.
It’s been 36hrs the car is locked but blue light of the adapter is still on meaning the car battery doesn’t turn off even when the ignition is off (right?).
I am following instructions as the showroom guy has said it but I still have a feeling in the back of my head that I’m hurting the car’s battery. So here’s the questions…..Am I?
Car experts please lemme know as it’s a new car and my week would be spoiled if I got a battery discharge damaged indicator anytime soon.
