YouTube app broken/battery life problem

Two issues here, firstly the YouTube app seems to stall after a minute or so and endlessly load. For the first few days of using Calyx this was not an issue however it is now. I know this has been talked about before and I've tried the various fixes to no avail. I am wondering if anything's changed since then fix wise. Secondly, this may be placebo or something, but I definitely feel like my battery life is worse on Calyx. Running stock on pixel 7A and seemed battery percentage went down much slower. I apreciate any replies.
