did anyone else parent themselves through the internet?
to make a long story short, my parents were very neglectful and my father isolated the family somewhat probably as a form of control.
google was like. the parent that taught me how to do things. i guess reddit was like a relative who gave you advice. youtube was like the parent that emotionally supported and interacted with me (and also taught me things). a big reason why i started using discord was to learn how to socialize unironically.
i'm older gen z. i'm sure neglectful parents left their kids to their own devices since forever, but i feel like that's happening in the literal sense more.
