Is it something I said? Why are so many Reddit Finance forums hostile to Boglehead style advice?

OP (56M), NetWorth over $1 Million (started with nothing). I have to admit, I am perplexed. Perhaps I am doing something wrong. Over the past few months I have received strikes or bans from Admins on several finance forums, been called a liar and received outright hostility, for sharing stories of people becoming millionaire next doors and books that I have found to be helpful on my journey. I was lucky to have found some good mentors who took the time to explain things and thought others might find the information useful.

All three of these subreddits claim to be helping low income and/or middle class individuals develop their financial acumen, yet I am coming to the realization that the Admins are not interested in actually helping the community. Not sure if they feel threatened, feel they are being preached to, or are just living a different paradigm.

Subreddit #1: Shared my story of going from Bankruptcy to Boglehead, accused of shaming others and ended up banned.

Subreddit #2: Shared story of acquaintance who is a single mother, who never made more than $26/hr and has a net worth of over 1 million. Called a liar, told I made up the story, and banned.

Subreddit #3: Listed several books I found helpful over the years to learn personal finance and investing, and banned for no reason.

Have others had similar experiences or is it just me? (Smile)

PS: Admins please don't ban me, in the words of Richard Gere in, An Officer and A Gentleman, "I GOT NOWHERE ELSE TO GO!" - SMILE
