Spoiler! Please help with Astarion personal quest

I want to spare Yurger and break his contract. I can’t bring myself to kill him and his panther (they care deeply about each other) as I read Salvatore Forgotten Realms books and she reminds me of Guenhwyvar😢 I cried during the cinematic where I persuaded him to end his followers and I cannot go this route.

So when I found a way to break his contract, Astarion is mad with me because we failed at his personal quest progression by breaking our deal with Rafael.

Please tell me where would be some other way to deal with Astarion’s scars? I don’t want to fail his quest.
