One night stands; how do you do it?

For the people who often have one night stands, how do you do it? I personally can’t even fathom kissing a stranger let alone having sex with one. Also, whenever I meet people in a bar/party, it never seems like the night will end in us having sex, the furthest it goes is exchanging contacts tbh.
