Anyone else feel like they are turning into Frank Grimes?
So a woman I know as an acquaintance has never really had to work and has claimed social welfare and every benefit under the sun for her adult life. She has a four bed council house in the city even though two of her kids have moved out.
Her parents sadly passed away and left a huge inheritance as they were millionaires from running their own business. This woman keeps talking about buying new cars, holidays etc and will provide money to her kids which are also in council housing.
I’ve seen cases of this throughout my life but it hit home at the moment as me and my partner are working every hour god sends to save for a house deposit which will still be a challenge even with no eating out, holidays, sharing a car etc.
Frank Grimes quote from the Simpsons where he has had to work hard every day of his life and all he has to show for it is his briefcase and his haircut spring to mind!
Before I get bashed I have no issue with those who genuinely need council housing getting it but the amount of people I know who have a council but have wealthy families or whose income has increased since they got it seems too many.
Would be keen to get thoughts - am I just a jealous begrudger??
