BlueStar range: worth it?
I am in the early planning phase of a total kitchen remodel for my "dream kitchen" and have been leaning toward a BlueStar range (likely 48" RNB with French Top), but I have seen many people comment on poor performance with the ovens and generally bad customer service.
With that, I would really appreciate any input from those who currently have a BlueStar range, or had one previously.
- Did you have any major issues that would make you reconsider buying one?
- If you had issues, was it just the oven, or with the range top as well?
- I've seen many comments on the oven door and range knobs getting incredibly hot while the oven is on, did you have this problem? We have children and pets, so this would be an issue.
Obviously these are not inexpensive ranges, so I'm trying to get as much feedback from people who have actually owned one before pulling the trigger. I'm drawn to the high burner output, low technology (I do not want a range with wifi), and the customization options with BlueStar, but open to recommendations on ranges with similar qualities. I would consider buying a range top and separate wall ovens of a different brand if the issues are primarily with the oven, especially as we do most of our cooking with burners and not the oven. All help is appreciated!
Side note: I've also looked at a Hestan range/rangetop, but have seen limited reviews on those. If you have input on a Hestan, please share!
