Now THAT is how you make an apology

I just wanted to shout out Beck and say that as a bisexual woman I really appreciate how they went about apologizing and acknowledging their prejudices in the past towards bisexuality. No over explaining why they felt that way, no throwing up diagnoses in a desperate attempt to shake accountability, no buzzwords, just pure “hey this thing I used to believe is fucked up, I’ve reflected on it, and I know my negative experience doesn’t make this stereotype I used to believe in absolute or true, and I’m sorry”. I have a lot of respect for Beck in a lot of ways, but while I was making breakfast this morning I couldn’t help but smile and feel soft when I heard them say that. Felt good hearing that genuineness contrasted against Amber’s fabricated slop. It felt like a good combination of sentiments from the heart AND the brain🩷
