Non-Medical Attendant Question

I’m(Air Force) currently a NMA for my wife(navy) pregnancy and delivery. We are stationed over seas but had to come stateside to deliver. I’m under the assumption that my baby leave would start the day after my travel back to my home base since I’ll be on orders til then but was wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation that went differently.
