Should she stay or should she go
About five years ago I bought a 2009 Acura TL. I didn't know much about them but I liked the way they looked and I knew Acuras are reliable. I did not get much if any information about her history. I took her for a test drive, she was beautiful and I bought her. I have grown to love this car and plan to always have one in my life from now on.
Now, she has 230,000 miles on her. She is due for a timing belt change. I don't know if her transmission fluid has ever been changed but not since I've had her. 🤷🏻♀️ She has had regular oil changes.
Her body is in good condition. Just has a little bit of rust on the edge of the driver side door. Interior is perfect. Unfortunately the windshield got broken recently and it's going to have to be replaced.
There's something a little clunky going on in the front end when I go over bumps. The last time I had her in for an oil change I had them look at the front end. they said they didn't see any problems, but I know there's something going on there.
I wish now that I had looked more into the history etc but I'm just a single lady who likes nice looking cars but not mechanically inclined and didn't know better.
I would like to hold onto her for another year or so or maybe until she dies in order to save for another one. The problem is I'm starting to feel a little less confident in her reliability.
My dilemma is should I put money into her to keep her going for as long as possible or bite the bullet and get another one with less mileage. I can get the windshield changed and the timing belt changed but I know the transmission is a concern.
Just looking for some opinions.
